Finding Humor in Everyday Life!

Paul Sandip is also a cartoonist, illustrator and humorist. He started professional cartooning at the age of 14. His cartoons stemmed from his observations of everyday life. He got his first break as a short story writer and illustrator with The Statesman, Kolkata. Later, while pursuing engineering studies he worked as a part-time sub-editor with Lokmat Times, Nagpur. This is where he got the opportunity to start his own daily Pocket cartoon column "Not as you see!- by Sandip" He has also worked as a freelance cartoonist with The Hitavada, Times of India and The Happening Nagpur. He is a self-taught cartoonist seamlessly blending humor and insightful commentary in each stroke distilling profound observations into humorous gems. Paul Sandip was awarded as the "Best Cartoonist of the Year 2000" by Nagpur University. All the works listed here are original works of Paul Sandip, published in various news papers and magazines.

Cartoons | The Statesman, Kolkata

The Statesman is an English daily newspaper founded in 1875 and published simultaneously in Kolkata, New Delhi, Siliguri and Bhubaneswar. Ms. Swati Ghosh, Editor of the Voices section, gave Paul Sandip his first break into the world of professional cartooning. He had the opportunity to illustrate short stories written by him as well as other authors.

Column | Times of India, Nagpur

The Times of India is India’s most-read English newspaper. More than 13.5 million readers wake up to one of its 13 editions every morning. With a daily circulation of more than 4 million copies, it is the world’s largest-selling English newspaper.

Mr. Indraneel Mukherji gave Paul Sandip the opportunity to initiate a weekly pocket cartoon column called : "Did you say that!?" for the Nagpur edition of The Times of India, Newspaper.

Pocket Column | Lokmat Times

Mr. N.K.Nayak, Editor of Lokmat Times gave Paul Sandip the opportunity to start his own pocket cartoon column "Not as you see!" by Sandip in 2001. As an editorial cartoonist, he drew cartoons on a daily basis that used to convey and question aspects of everyday life or current affairs in a national or international context. Launched in 1987, Lokmat Times is the English daily of Lokmat Group and is published from Aurangabad, Nagpur and Nashik. View all the columns here: Not as you see!

Caricatures | The Hitavada

Mr.Vijay Phanshikar, Editor of The Hitavada, a leading English Newspaper in Maharashtra gave Paul Sandip the opportunity to draw caricatures of celebrities from the fields of politics, arts, cinema and sports for their daily publications. 

Founded in 1911 by freedom fighter Gopal Krishna Gokhale in Nagpur, The Hitavada is an English daily newspaper circulating mainly in Central parts of India.

Cartoons | The Happening Nagpur

Dr. Sanjay Arora, Editor of "The Happening Nagpur", a monthly news and features magazine of Nagpur city, gave Paul Sandip an opportunity to start two cartoon columns, "Nagtoons" and "Last Laugh" to express his observations from everyday life.
